Volunteers are vital to Ilan-Lael! For many years volunteers have been integral to the success of our mission at Ilan-Lael. They help us with art projects, events, tours and the general care and keeping of our 10-acre home and studio compound.
Hubbell Open House & Studio Tours
Our yearly Open House tours are a fun way to be active with our community. Our tours have changed since 2020 and we now have two open house “tour seasons” in the spring and fall, we have more dates available and they are much smaller, docent led tours. With this new model, the volunteer experience is more relaxing and manageable. We also have a lot of dusting, window washing and sweeping to prepare for the tours so there are ample opportunities to come up to the properly for a “Work Day”. You won’t regret spending time in the most unique art locale in San Diego amid the beauty and tranquility of the Laguna Mountains.
Docents support our private tours which are scheduled in the spring and fall. Spend an hour or two sharing this one-of-a-kind space with our guests, sharing the Hubbell’s story and the beauty of art, architecture and nature.
Work with our maintenance and landscape teams as we keep the art in tip-top shape. Volunteers are needed to clean and repair artworks, mosaics, help in our organic gardens, and for general office work.
Not into physical labor? No worries, we have volunteering opportunities in the Hubbell Archive project that include data entry, photography and sorting.
