The Original James T. Hubbell Studios find new life as the Ilan-Lael Studios
The Ilan-Lael Foundation is comprised of two studios and two galleries on the Ilan-Lael property in Julian, CA.
Our working art studios continue the practices made famous by artist James Hubbell; glorious stained glass window designs, flowing mosaics, sinuous metal forging, and fine woodworking. Also practiced here are ceramics, bronze casting, sculpture, painting, and acrylics.
Our studios are a source of original commissions designed by our skilled in-house artists. The artisans here are an important resource that helps us maintain and preserve the 13 artful structures designed and built by James Hubbell. The facility is also used to educate and train students in art and architecture practices.
