Summer 2026 Program Highlights

Our goals are to enhance art engagement for all ages, expand environmental education programs for youth, and offer internships and workforce development opportunities for young adults.

At the Ilan-Lael Foundation we are dedicated to honoring the enduring legacy of James Hubbell. In his spirit we are building new programs, reaching more students, celebrating artists, and renewing our commitment to use art as a bridge to cultural connection and peace. Your support helps us sustain Ilan-Lael as a vibrant cultural treasure that enriches our community. Which is why we are proud to announce a Summer Match fundraiser to enhance and grow education programs at Ilan-Lael. A group of donors, which includes 100% participation from our Board of Directors, are offering a dollar for dollar match of up to $50,000.

 UCSD Design Lab & Pacific Rim Park

The Ilan-Lael Foundation is proud to partner with UCSD’s Design and Innovation Lab, led by Director Mai Nguyen. This forward-thinking incubator is helping us envision how the PRP “string of pearls” can evolve for the next generation.

Butterfield Summer Program

The Butterfield Summer Program provides remote desert areas of San Diego County with hands-on workshops and social- emotional growth resources that foster resilience and community. This community is composed of formally unhoused families, seeking mental health services, often lacking transportation and are far from bus lines and resources.

High School Studio

In partnership with Julian Union High School, we open studio doors to rural youth of our community. Small groups of upperclassmen gain weekly studio time to learn the traditional art practices of stained glass, ceramics, mosaics and fine woodworking workshops which help students identify their own creativity and bolster confidence and well-being.
