Glass Mosaic Inspired by Nature

While this day-long workshop will introduce the basic methods and tools of glass mosaic creation, the real focus will be celebrating nature through art! Students will be encouraged to explore James Hubbell‘s incredible sense of using forms and lines from nature to inspire his art. The Ilan-Lael Foundation grounds will provide endless inspiration from the natural world while students discover their inner artist in the serenity of the Julian mountains. A tour of the property with an eye on glass mosaics is included to kick off the day, followed by hours of art-making with an array of colorful and unique glass materials to choose from. Participants will be exploring glass mosaic techniques with an instructor that has over 20 years experience, many of which with Hubbell, all while creating their own individual artwork inspired by nature. Finding and trusting your inner artist through creative expression will be goal of the day!

We will provide protective gear, but comfortable work clothing and footwear are encouraged.
