Using Ilan-Lael’s unique location at James Hubbell’s Studio, Instructor Christopher Broughton, will explore the artist environment in real-time with working Hubbell Studio artists to show students how to make beautiful editorial style portraits. Broughton teaches techniques that transform the challenges of the environment into tools to help tell the artist story. take advantage of the artist environment to help
Techniques will be explored using available light, modifying available light with easy-to-use portable modifiers, and utilizing portable lights on location. Assignments will be both on campus as well as in the nearby community. Assignments will be followed by group critiques and discussion.
Amateurs, Advanced Amateurs
Participants are required to bring camera and editing software and need to be technically self-sufficient, as this is not a workshop to learn how to use your gear or editing software. Digital SLR, mirrorless cameras and iPhones are all welcome.
Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements. On-campus accommodations are not currently available.
Two group breakfasts and one group lunch are included during the workshop; all other meals are the responsibility of the participant. Daily beverage service is available.
