Support the Ilan-Lael Foundation with Commissioned Art

James Hubbell’s vision for the Ilan-Lael Foundation was to sustain the creative spirit by keeping alive the arts at Ilan-Lael. James Hubbell entrusted these spaces, along with his tools, kilns, forge, and materials, to the Foundation, tasking us with perpetuating creative endeavors. We are proud to introduce the Ilan-Lael Studios, where works of art and craft blend time-honored methods with fresh approaches. Hubbell’s legacy lives on through the Ilan-Lael commissions conducted by our team of talented artists and unparalleled craftsmen.

The artists of Ilan-Lael Studios studied for years under James Hubbell and are adept at interpreting his design ethos into uniquely new and original custom. Door treatments are a popular choice, as are custom metal gates, mosaic kitchen and pool treatments, and stained-glass windows and free-hanging designs.

“I don’t want it to be a museum, I want it to be active.
I want artists to be working here and craftspeople.”

—James Hubbell on his vision for the Ilan-Lael Foundation Studios in 2005
