It’s hard to come up with the words to thank those talented and hardy souls (building in the winter in Santa Ysabel) for their dedication and skill in construction the new Ilan-Lael Center. In sun and snow, wind and rain, and feast and famine (with regards to the building kitty) they are making great progress in completing the Art Center courtyard complex — a triad of buildings that will support the public activities on the site of Ilan-Lael. From left to right, our artists are James Hubbell, artistic director, Paul Seiter, architecture intern, U of Cincinnati, Abby Heimann, architecture intern U of Cincinnsti, Rick Acurso, woodworker, Sandy Schuit, artist assistant, Steve Farmer, rock masonry, Cindy Shriver, stained glass, Colorado John Smith, sculptor and stone whisperer, Kim Ogburn, construction supervisor, John Wheelock, metalsmith, Adolpho Solis, landscape maintenance, and Manuel Valdez, construction. Thank you one and all. We could not do it without you!
